Pierce Brosnan was iconic as the suave James Bond of the 1990s, and there’s speculation that he could return to the 007 franchise under Amazon MGM.
Following the streaming giant’s acquisition of creative control from the Broccoli family at EON Productions, it now feels like anything’s possible.
The 71-year-old was recently asked if he’d like to return as an older version of Ian Fleming’s spy, to which he admitted, “Of course, how could I not be interested?”
He most recently played an M-type spy chief in the MI6 spy thriller Black Bag, which is currently playing in cinemas.
Given his success there, fans have been speculating that Brosnan could return as M in the next Bond movie, to which he has now spoken out on.
Promoting his new Paramount+ series MobLand, co-starring Tom Hardy and Helen Mirren, Brosnan shared: “Really? That’s nuts. Oh for God’s sake, let’s see where the wind takes us.”
He told the Telegraph: “My wife tells me some of this stuff, about the buzz going on here and there, but she hadn’t told me that one.”
Asked about Amazon MGM taking over the Bond film franchise, he simply said: “I wish them well.”
