Having separated last year, I can reveal that the Duke of Marlborough and his second wife, Edla Griffiths, are making it official. A reliable source tells me that the Duke – better known as Jamie Blandford – has filed for divorce to end their 23-year marriage formally.
The couple, who have two children, Lady Araminta, who will turn 18 next month, and Lord Caspar, 16, split last May and have declined to comment on the personal matter.
Their long relationship has not been without its ups and downs, owing to Jamie’s party boy lifestyle and motoring offences leading to a jail term. But in recent years the Duke cleaned up his act. He sits on a vast inheritance, including a sprawling 11,500 Oxfordshire estate and a whopping £183million fortune.

He also lives at Blenheim Palace, the birthplace of Winston Churchill, which was built in the 18th century for John Churchill, the first Duke of Marlborough. Jamie is currently loved up with his new beau, Doune Murray, whom he started dating shortly after splitting from Edla.
His son George, Marquess of Blandford, from Jamie’s first marriage to Becky Few Brown, is heir to the title and estate. George married Camilla Thorp in 2018 and they have two daughters, Lady Olympia, four, and Lady Leonora, three months.

Prince William risks Prince Harry’s wrath
I wonder how the news the Prince of Wales is appearing in a special episode of Clarkson’s Farm has gone down in Montecito. William, who has long advocated for the mental health of farmers, will appear on the popular Amazon Prime show after a camera crow following him on his trip to Folly Farm on Wednesday, where he met stars of the series, Kaleb Cooper and Charlie Ireland.
The show is about the former Topgear presenter Jeremy Clarkson’s farm in the Cotswolds and has proved hugely successful for its authenticity and humour. But William’s appearance on Clarkson’s show is unlikely to wash well with his brother.
The TV star wrote a highly controversial newspaper column in 2022 about the Duchess of Sussex, where he said he wanted to see Meghan paraded through the streets naked while people threw excrement at her. It was taken offline after press regulator IPSO was inundated with complaints, and both the publisher and author issued an apology.
But the Sussexes criticised the apology as a “PR stunt” and said the article was not an isolated incident for Clarkson. Harry discussed the column in a TV interview and said it was “horrific, and is hurtful and cruel towards my wife”. He also criticised the Royal Family for failing to defend Meghan, so I can’t imagine that an appearance on Clarkson’s show will improve familial relations.

Get well soon King Charles
The King’s brief hospital admission is a sober reminder that our monarch continues to be treated for cancer.
As he busies himself with engagements up and down the country week in week out, it’s easy to forget that Charles is still being treated for what he once termed a “wicked disease”.
Thursday would have been a tough day for the workaholic King, who is determined to keep calm and carry on, and will have been genuinely upset to postpone his engagements.
But let’s hope Charles put his feet up this weekend and heeded the advice of his medics and concerned wife to take it easy.
I’m sure you’ll all join me in wishing him all the best and a speedy recovery.
Meghan Markle recently launched an online shop (Image: Netflix)
Meg-fluencer?
While Meghan Markle insists she’s “not an influencer” her decision to make money off her wardrobe shows the opposite.
Last week the Duchess posted on her Instagram page – as she continues to regularly share updates about her many new ventures – to announce her new online shop.
Fans can now trawl through her website where she has carefully chosen products to promote – and will take a cut of any purchases. It’s an easy way for Meghan to make money, but for someone who’s desperate to be positioned as a female founder and ‘entrepreneur’ it seriously damages her image.
Instead of being taken seriously as a business owner, she’s positioning herself as an influencer – which is diluting her brand.
At the moment, it appears as though she’s trying anything to find out what sticks, no matter the long-term consequences to her reputation.
Happy Mother’s Day
Mother’s Day is an important day for us to honour and celebrate the woman who helped raise us and helped make us who we are today.
I’ll be heading home to Kent this morning to cook my mum a roast and remind her just how much she’s appreciated – as nothing says ‘I love you’ better than perfectly crisp potatoes and a cold glass of Pinot Grigio.
But I’m also aware that I’m one of the lucky ones who can look at today with joy and love.
So if you know someone who has lost a loved one, has fertility problems or has a difficult relationship with their mother, reach out to them and remind them that they’re not alone.
