Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in Nigeria to ‘appear more important’ | Royal | News

Prince Harry and Meghan are in Nigeria for the next three days to promote the Invictus Games – and the visit benefits them for multiple reasonss says royal commentator Kinsey Schofield.

Daily Express US spoke to the To Di For Daily host who said the Duke of Sussex is now more of a “reality star and tell-all author” – referring to Harry and Meghan’s six-part docuseries on Netflix and his 2022 memoir Spare.

She said of their trip to West Africa: “Harry is no longer the King’s son representing the crown. He is a reality star and tell-all author.

“Harry and Meghan will seize this opportunity to appear more important than they are.

“Last week Meghan was dropping off jars of jam to the one percenters in Montecito.”

Meghan soft launched her new lifestyle brand, American Riveria Orchard, in March and as part of the promotions she sent out 50 jars of canned jam to friends and influencers.

While Harry and Meghan’s visit is unofficial, Nigeria will also appreciate the attention their visit brings, says Ms Schofield.

The Invictus Games is in its tenth year, and Nigeria may act as a host country down the road. It’s yet to be determined, hence Harry and Meghan traveling to West Africa to “court” the nation as a prospective host.

“Nigeria will appreciate the attention that they will receive with Harry and Meghan on their soil. They will celebrate them,” says Ms Schofield.
