Three adults and a child have suffered serious injuries following a shooting near to a restaurant in Hackney, London.

A major police operation was launched following an incident on Kingsland High Street, Dalston just after 9.20pm on Wednesday.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed all four had suffered “gunshot injuries” and were rushed to an east London hospital.

Officers have not yet arrested anyone in connection with the attack.

Deputy assistant commissioner Matt Ward said: “We know Londoners will be shocked by what has taken place tonight.”

“Our thoughts go to all those affected.

“Fast-moving enquiries are underway and we will update as soon as we can.

“If anyone has any information, please contact us.”

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said three adults and the child were treated at the scene – before being taken to a major trauma centre.

The investigation is ongoing.
