How to remove grease stains from oven glass door fast without vinegar or scrubbing

Oven cleaning is not the easiest of household chores and tackling the glass door often takes the longest.

During cooking, you can get many food stains and splatters which results in having an oven glass door plastered with all sorts of greases.

Instead of just using dish soap or a combination of baking soda and white vinegar to clean your oven glass, one cleaning enthusiast may have found a fast and easier method.

Taking to the Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips Facebook page Kelly Jayne Gill shared a photo of her oven glass before cleaning and it was completely brown.

In the next photo, she posted the glass was stain-free and looking like new, and she puts it down to one particular item.

She said: “Yeah my oven door covered in filthy stains. Didn’t realise I could take the glass out, anyway look at this. Elbow Grease and warm water. Bloody brilliant stuff.”

Explaining what she did, Kelly said: “I sprayed a good amount on the door then left it for five minutes. Literally just used a normal sponge and rubbed (not even hard) and it wiped straight off.

“My door had two small screws which allowed the glass to come out but some just slide out and others have clips so you can remove it. Hope that helps.”

It’s worth reading your oven’s manual in order to find out how to access the glass between the oven glass door.

If you’ve lost your copy, the manufacturer makes their manuals available online, so just google your ovens brand and you’ll be sure to find the instructions.

Mrs Hinch fans took to the comments to share their opinions on this tip. Amanda Toon said: “Wow, impressed. No real scrubbing needed either.”

Fiona Clarke wrote: “Wooo well done! I find Elbow Grease spray is great on ovens.”

Diane Leary said: “Kelly I just did mine with Elbow Grease – absolutely great product.”

When asked where to purchase the Elbow Grease spray from, Kelly replied: “I got mine from Poundland, but Savers, Home Bargains and B&M all usually have it from around 89p to £1.20.”
