PS Plus Extra and Premium August 2024 reveal time, date, leaks and games leaving | Gaming | Entertainment

PlayStation Plus subscribers are counting down the hours until Sony reveals the Extra and Premium games for August 2024. Barring any last minute changes or leaks, the next batch of Extra and Premium games will be officially unveiled by Sony at 4.30pm BST UK time of the afternoon of August 14. Fans will have to wait a little longer for the games to be available to download and install, with the new releases joining PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium on the morning of August 20. Needless to say, the games will include roughly a dozen PS4 and PS5 games for Extra subscribers, as well as a selection of retro games and PSVR 2 titles for Premium members. Daily Express will update this article with any leaks, and when Sony makes the official PS Plus Extra and Premium announcement on August 14.

Needless to say, in the run up to the big reveal, some fans have been attempting to predict the line-up over on Reddit.

One game that keeps cropping up again and again is Sonic Frontiers, which feels like a certainty at some point for PS Plus Extra.

Despite some reservations ahead of release, fans were impressed by the open-world Sonic the Hedgehog gameplay.

“Worlds are colliding in Sonic the Hedgehog’s newest high-speed adventure!” reads the official description.

“In search of the missing Chaos emeralds, Sonic becomes stranded on an ancient island teeming with unusual creatures. Battle hordes of powerful enemies as you explore a breathtaking world of action, adventure, and mystery.

“Accelerate to new heights and experience the thrill of high-velocity, open-zone platforming freedom as you race across the five massive Starfall Islands. Jump into adventure, wield the power of the Ancients, and fight to stop these new mysterious foes. Welcome to the evolution of Sonic games!”

Other games predicted to join PS Plus Extra include Hades, Resident Evil Village, Like a Dragon Ishin and Robocop.

Other games with plenty of predictions include Dead Island 2, which is a semi-open world action game taking place in a zombie-ravaged Los Angeles.

Other games on the list include Cult of the Lamb, Star Wars Jedi Survivor, LEGO Harry Potter, Superheat, Viewfinder, Overcooked, Goat Simulator 3, Valkyrie Elysium, Divinity Original Sin, Madden NFL 24, Powerslaved Exhumed and What the Golf.

It’s also worth pointing out that some games will be leaving PS Plus Extra in August, including NBA 2K24.

That’s on top of Need For Speed Unbound, SpellForce III, Trials of Mana, Moving Out 2, Midnight Fight, Lost Judgment, Destroy All Humans and Destroy All Humans 2.

Critically acclaimed RPG Sea of Stars is also leaving PS Plus, so you’d better hurry if you want to complete it.
