You can get the Google Pixel 9 with 256GB storage for just £29.99 per month from Mobiles.co.uk with a one-off upfront payment of £29. This gets you a massive 500GB mobile data plus unlimited calls and texts with iD Mobile, an operator that uses the Vodafone network and is owned by Currys (which also owns Mobiles.co.uk).
This is a great deal for two reasons. Firstly, the cost over the 24 months at £29.99 per month comes to £719.76. Add the £29 upfront cost and it comes to £748.76 – less than the cost of the 128GB storage model of the Pixel 9 that retails for £799.
But this deal is for the 256GB version, which costs a whole £100 more at £899. So with this deal, you’ll pay about £750 for a £899 phone, plus the unlimited calls and texts and 500GB monthly 5G data.

One thing to bear in mind is that, like many phone contracts in the UK, the monthly cost is subject to annual price rises every April – so your bill will rise in April 2025 and April 2026 if you were to go with this deal today based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rate of inflation, plus an additional 3.9%. But given the small percentage rises, you’re still going to be making a saving on the costs of the handset spread over two years, plus getting the generous mobile plan.
The Pixel 9 looks to be an excellent smartphone effort from Google. It’s got dual cameras that should carry on the Pixel line’s excellent photography reputation with a 50MP main lens backed up by a 48MP ultra-wide.
The phone is also stuffed to the gills with AI features including Google’s new Gemini assistant, which you can use to search information faster and more personally than before as it has access to your Google apps and data. You can also edit photos or add yourself into a group shot using the clever new Add Me tool.
You can choose between white, black, green or pink models of the Pixel 9, which comes with Android 14 and the promise of seven full years of software updates from Google which should keep you ticking along nicely. Samsung also offers this many years with its latest Galaxy S24 phones, a fine alternative to the Pixel.
Before you sign up to a mobile contract, do the maths and make sure you think you can afford the monthly payments. There’s no way to get out of paying once you’ve signed on the dotted line.
Although this is the best deal we’ve seen for the Pixel 9, you should also shop around to see if you can get a better price elsewhere, as well as checking if you think it’d be better to buy a handset outright if you can afford it to avoid a contract. This lets you sell the phone earlier down the line if you want as you have paid it off straight away.
You should of course also consider if you need a new phone at all. The one you already have is probably more than OK still. But if it’s time for an upgrade, this Pixel 9 deal looks like a good way to go.
