One of the best video games of all time is now available on PS Plus | Gaming | Entertainment

A series that continued to get better and better, The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt is one of the finest games ever made, matching the likes of GTA 5 and Skyrim for beauty and sheer ambition when it originally launched back in 2015.

The stunning open world adventure game features some of the best characters and storytelling in video game history, not to mention impeccable mission design that has arguably yet to be matched. (The Bloody Baron, in particular, is up there with the very best.)

Despite the fact that the game is nearly ten years old, various updates and re-releases have ensured The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt remains just as playable today as it was back then, which is why it was music to our ears when Sony announced it was coming to PS Plus Extra last month.

The version available on PlayStation Plus Extra contains the core game (which is playable on PS4 and PS5), as well as various quality of life improvements and new features, including a built-in Photo Mode, swords, armour, and alternate outfits inspired by The Witcher Netflix series.

While it should be available on PlayStation Plus Extra for the foreseeable future, we would certainly recommend playing it sooner rather than later, because Sony has been known to remove certain games with just a few weeks notice.

If you want to save money on a PS Plus Extra membership, then head over to CD Keys, where you can purchase PlayStation Store top-up cards at reduced prices.

Interestingly, Wild Hunt developer CD Projekt has confirmed that another Witcher game is in the works, although there’s currently no news on when it will launch or what it looks like. Codenamed Polaris, the new Witcher game was announced in 2022. While lead character Geralt of Rivia is expected to make an appearance in the game, all signs point towards the inclusion of a new lead character.

PS Plus Extra is available for £10.99 a month, £31.99 for 3 months, or £99.99 for an annual membership. PS Plus Extra gives subscribers access to hundreds of games, including Red Dead Redemption 2, Demon’s Souls, Horizon Forbidden West and lots more.
