Prince Harry has issued a new statement as he prepares to celebrate his 40th birthday on Sunday.
The Duke of Sussex told the BBC: “I was anxious about 30, I’m excited about 40.”
Harry added that his mission remains to “show up and do good in the world”, echoing his and wife Meghan Markle’s Archewell Foundation’s motto and said that being a dad to his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet is one of “life’s greatest joys”.
The Duke’s statement read: “Whatever the age, my mission is to continue showing up and doing good in the world.
“Becoming a father of two incredibly kind and funny kids has given me a fresh perspective on life, as well as sharpening my focus in all my work.
“Being a dad is one of life’s greatest joys and has only made me more driven and more committed to making this world a better place.”
The statement ends on a positive note: “Bring on the next decade.”
It comes as Harry is set to celebrate his milestone birthday with his family and friends this weekend before going on a lads’ holiday to the Californian mountains.
The Daily Express revealed this week that the Duke of Sussex has organised a birthday getaway to the Montecito peak, which is part of the Cold Spring Trail in California.
The lads’ holiday is thought to include some of his closest mates.
Meanwhile, Meghan is expected to stay in Montecito and look after Archie and Lilibet, according to The Sun.
