How to make giant Yorkshire puddings without using the oven


No roast dinner is complete without Yorkshire puddings; there’s no reason to skip them when you have an air fryer to help.

Unlike traditional oven cooking, the air fryer makes it easy to check on your golden creations to avoid burning, and it frees up space in the oven for other roast dinner staples.

TikTok has an abundance of air fryer hacks and recipes, and user @thismumcooks shared her method for making a giant Yorkshire pudding in the air fryer.

She shared a video with followers and explained the steps: “Let’s make Yorkshire puddings in the air fryer. A Yorkshire pudding recipe is so straightforward,” viewers were told.

The home cook claimed that her method warrants “absolutely perfect” results, which many impressed viewers agreed with.

Method

Weigh the ingredients into a and whisk them vigorously until air bubbles form on the surface.

Now take an oven-safe ceramic dish or glass bowl that fits in your air fryer basket, and add an inch of oil – vegetable is fine.

The TikTok star said: “Allow the oil to heat up in the air fryer for about three minutes and then add the mixture. Set the air fryer to 200 degrees Celsius for 20 minutes – but do not open the drawer.”

After 20 minutes, the giant pudding should be golden and crisp on the outside with a perfectly fluffy core.

One TikTok user claimed that the recipe is versatile enough to make small Yorkshire puddings. To do so, use small oven-proof ramekins and divide the mixture evenly between them.

A woman commented on the video: “I got some cheap ones from Amazon, I’m sure they were only about £5 for 10. I followed your recipe, and they were perfect.”
