‘Big Mac’ pasta is a twist on the classic McDonald’s recipe

Cooks looking for something comforting to tuck into during the week, look no further, this delicious pasta recipe is for you.

Big Mac pasta is a twist on the popular burger from the fast food chain McDonald’s and is pretty easy to cook.

The recipe comes from Heck and has a preparation time of 10 minutes and a cooking time of 45 minutes.

According to Heck’s website, it reads: “Flavour-packed burger pasta – created with fusilli and served alongside tomatoes and Heck Italia Burger pieces in a creamy Big Mac sauce, topped with melty cheese. Perfect both hot and cold.”

Big Mac pasta serves two people which means it is perfect for sharing with a loved one or a flatmate, or for eating as leftovers the next day.

For the Big Mac sauce:

  • Half cup mayonnaise
  • One tsp yellow mustard
  • One tbsp pickle juice
  • One tsp apple cider vinegar
  • One-eighth tsp salt
  • Half tsp paprika
  • Half tsp garlic powder
  • Half tsp onion powder

Method:

Firstly, cook the pasta according to packaging instructions and fry the Heck burgers in a little oil until golden. Break up the burgers into small bite-size chunks.

Prepare the croutons by tossing the burger bun cubes in the olive oil and coating them evenly in the herbs, garlic powder, salt and pepper.

Bake them at 160C for 10-15 minutes or until crispy, turning them halfway through. For the Big Mac sauce, simply combine all ingredients in a small bowl or jug.

Heat your oven to 190C. In an oven-proof dish, evenly coat the cooked pasta in the sauce, then stir in the tomatoes, croutons and burger pieces. Cover with shredded cheese and bake at 190C for 12-15 minutes.
