Cinnamon buns are ready in 15 minutes with simple two-ingredient dough

Cinnamon rolls are a winter favourite dessert, but unfortunately they take a long time to make.

The recipe often involves making the dough with yeast and waiting for it to rise. Not to mention the filling and icing glaze to drizzle on top.

Getting any ingredient wrong can mess up the texture of the rolls and unless they’re soft and fluffy, they just don’t hit the spot.

There’s nothing that’s better than freshly baked cinnamon rolls after a long day paired with a cup of tea.

One recipe has gone viral on Facebook after food blogger FitWaffle posted a video. Eloise shared the method and the two-ingredient dough rolls take just 30 minutes from scratch.

In the caption, Fitwaffle explained the recipe makes five mini cinnamon rolls.

Dough:

  • 180g Greek yoghurt (I used 0% fat)
  • 150g self raising flour

Filling:

  • 30g unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 tbsp light brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Glaze:

  • 6 tbsp icing sugar
  • 4 tsp milk (any)

For the dough, mix together Greek yoghurt and self-raising flour. Fitwaffle explains once that’s done, make it into a ball and then roll it out in a rectangle shape.

Then, for the filling mix the melted butter, sugar and cinnamon to form into a grainy paste. Once that’s done, spread it over the rolled out dough.

Roll it up tightly, however they explained to make sure to be gentle so it doesn’t break – then cut the ends off.

Finally cut it into five sections that should be equal, and place the rolls in a dish before placing in the oven at 160c (fan) for 15 minutes or until they look a light golden brown.
