A UK county beloved among British holidaymakers has been named as the most popular staycation destination for next year, new research has found.
Cornwall, the southernmost county within Britain, topped a list compiled by holiday provider Parkdean Resorts, which scored various popular travel hubs based on their digital engagement metrics.
The county, known for its stunning scenery and beaches, eclipsed the competition with a 76.3 score among the top trending UK holiday spots, boasting close to a million monthly searches for holiday-themed content, GB News reports.
The firm put the together the ranking by looking at holiday-related searches on Google as well as TikTok engagement and Instagram hashtags to rank the most sought-after spots.
Cornwall’s diverse range of attractions was apparently the driver behind its traction online, famous for its gorgeous coastal walks and natural beauty.
London came a distant second with a score of 39.4, as it remains a hotspot for domestic travel.
The capital saw performed particularly well in terms of social media engagement, seeing more than 13 million views across its top TikTok hashtags, as per the outlet.
Cornwall’s scenic spleandour attracts holidaymakers from all over the country, with a wealth of sandy shores, to dramatic steep-cliffed coves and more than 400 beaches.

But though Cornwall’s popularity has made it more difficult to find quiet, secluded spots, there are still plenty of hidden gems.
