Apple confirms exact date of its next major event and there’s not long to wait

Apple has just confirmed that it will be back this summer with another feature-packed WWDC Developers Conference. Although that event might not sound that exciting to consumers, the yearly showcase always reveals big new features and blockbuster upgrades that will be coming to popular devices such as the iPhone, iPad and Mac.

Last year, Apple revealed its Apple Intelligence update for the very first time along with iOS 18 which included changes such as new ways to customise the look of devices, a new Photos app and improved ways to message.

It’s almost certain that iOS 19 will be shown off this year along with the latest versions of iPadOS, WatchOS and MacOS.

So when is the big event taking place?

WWDC25 will begin on June 9 and run until June 13. It will be open to software developers who can apply to head to California in person.

Those developers attending will not only hear all of the latest news and updates live at the Apple Park HQ in Cupertino but also get time with Apple’s experts to help improve their apps and software.

Apple says that Space will be limited; details on how to apply to attend can be found on the WWDC25 website.

“We’re excited to mark another incredible year of WWDC with our global developer community,” said Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations. “We can’t wait to share the latest tools and technologies that will empower developers and help them continue to innovate.”

If you love your iPhone, own an iPad or use a Mac it will be well worth logging into Apple’s usual live stream as there are sure to be plenty of surprises.

The US technology firm has even showcased new hardware WWDC in the past so watch this space and pop June 9 in your tech calendar.
