Dunelm parasol that gives ‘plenty of shade’ now half-price

After bucketloads of rain and a pretty miserable first half of the year, the promise of sunnier weather is hopefully on the horizon with the official arrival of summer. The unseasonably cold and wet weather has left many of us feeling a bit down in the dumps, but July and August will hopefully be warmer and drier.

If you’re one of the many outdoor enthusiasts itching to get in the garden, then a deal from Dunelm is worth a look as we hed into the warmer months. The 3m Elements Grey Cantilever Parasol makes the perfect addition to any seating area, and it’s currently half-price in a sale event.

The sizeable shade covering boasts an average of 4.4 stars out of 5 from more than 400 reviews and is currently £39.50, rather than its usual £79 price. The product features an easy-to-operate crank which helps adjust the canopy position when required.

However, it is recommended that the parasol remains closed when not in use and is always kept closed in extremely windy conditions. It is also worth noting that it needs parasol weights to stop it from blowing over in the wind which aren’t included. They can be picked up for £20 from Dunelm or £17.99 from Amazon.

Buyers have been largely singing the praises of the product that comes with a one-year guarantee for peace of mind. One said: “Good quality, easy to put together and certainly does the trick-creating shade on a sunny day. Does need to be weighted on windy days but ordinarily is fine. A well worthwhile purchase.”

Another said: “Easy to assemble and does the job nicely, plenty of shade and adjustable to your requirements, a great addition to your garden seating area.”

A third added: “Absolutely delighted with our parasol. Just as described, very moveable and perfect for our patio. Don’t be tempted to buy without the weights as these are essential.”

A fourth added: “Sturdy and modern. Good value for money. Only reason why I didn’t give it 5 stars is that it would’ve been better if came with a cover.”

However, not everyone was thrilled with the product. One disgruntled reviewer wrote: “Looks lovely and works fairly well (although does rotate a bit when blowy). However, less than a year later the cord has snapped so can no longer be used.”

Another wasn’t overly impressed: “Broken within four weeks and as of yet no contact back from Dunelm.”

M&S also sells a stylish cantilever parasol, although it’s pricier and a bit smaller. M&S says the £149 parasol “works hard to protect you from the sun’s harmful rays”.
