Jos Verstappen ‘finished’ with ‘childish’ Christian Horner as Red Bull civil war reignites | F1 | Sport

Jos Verstappen has twisted the knife on Christian Horner, insisting that he is ‘completely finished’ with the Red Bull team principal after he allegedly stopped the 52-year-old from taking part in a classic car parade at the Austrian Grand Prix.

The father of three-time world champion Max Verstappen has been in a war of words with Horner throughout the 2024 season to date, and his latest issue with the team principal came ahead of FP1 in Spielberg.

Verstappen Snr first told De Telegraaf: “In the past few days, I’ve heard from several sides that Christian Horner did everything he could to not let me drive and otherwise to make sure that nothing would be filmed. Then I think,’ Say it to my face’. It doesn’t have to be this way for me, I find it very disappointing.”

Red Bull opposed Verstappen Snr’s claims about Horner, but this did not stop the former F1 driver, who also told Formule1.NL: “How childish can you be. There was going to be filming, for example also with a drone, but Horner didn’t want me to be filmed.

“I’m completely finished with Horner. It’s like a kindergarten here. I would have been allowed to ride in the end, but I backed out. I find this so childish of Horner, but I think it says something about him.”

Horner was asked about the comments in the FIA press conference on Friday. He responded: “My relationship with Max has always been good.

“He is our driver, we have a contract with him and that is what is important to me. I have never had any problems with drivers or drivers’ fathers in the past. I have no reaction to Jos’ issues.”
