We are into the closing stages of the Olympics but there are still plenty of medals left to be won on the penultimate day of the Games. Team GB will be looking to add to their impressive total after a productive display on Friday, which brought success in climbing, track cycling and athletics.

Caden Cunningham and Rebecca McGowan will be hoping to strike gold in taekwondo while Erin McNeice will be in the women’s boulder and lead climbing finals. Team GB will also be on the hunt for more athletics medals in the men’s 800 metres, men’s 5,000 metres and women’s 1,500 metres.

The biggest story on Friday saw Imane Khelif secure Olympic gold in the women’s 66kg boxing final with a dominant win over Yang Liu of China. The Algerian fighter, who has been at the centre of a gender row throughout the Games, won every round on the scorecards to claim an emphatic points victory.
