Air fryer salmon recipe cooks in 6 minutes to give ‘tender and flaky results every time’

are incredible kitchen gadgets to speed up times, with some even preferring them over ovens.

Adored for their energy efficiency, air fryer sales continue to soar as many households continue to look for ways to save on their .

One thing that cooks incredibly well in the air fryer is salmon – and it’s so fast too.

There’s nothing worse than over-cooked rubbery salmon, but the air fryer “guarantees the fish turns out crispy on the outside and perfectly flaky in the middle”, claimed Arman Liew, a two-time cooking author and food blogger.

The cook claimed that his method is the “best way to cook salmon” and gives “tender and flaky results every single time” in just six minutes.

Ingredients

Four salmon fillets

One tablespoon olive oil

Half a teaspoon salt

Half a teaspoon pepper

Two tablespoon brown sugar

Half a teaspoon smoked paprika

Half a season garlic powder

Half a teaspoon onion powder

Method

Start by adding the salmon and olive oil into a small bowl and mix. Add the salt, pepper, and spices, and rub them onto the fish, ensuring all sides of the fish are seasoned.

Opt for fillets that are similar in size and weight. This will ensure the fish cooks evenly and completely at the same time.

Add the salmon skin side down to the air fryer basket and air fry at 200C/400F for six minutes, or until the fish reaches an internal temperature of 145F/63C.

Depending on the make and model of your air fryer, you may need to cook it a little longer.

For those using frozen salmon, there is no need to thaw it. To compensate, increase the cooking time by two minutes.

In this recipe, the salmon does not need to be flipped, as the skin is still intact. Salmon can be quite delicate, and flipping it risks the fish breaking apart.

Remove the salmon from the air fryer basket and glaze with a sauce, if desired.

Air-fried salmon is healthy in itself, but you can round out the meal with other healthy side dishes like steamed vegetables, rice, and salad.

Alternatively, you could serve the salmon with some air-fried vegetables like broccoli, carrots and potatoes.

Leftover salmon can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
